Payment links let you accept payments from your customers without building a website or writing any code. Simply create a link, share it with your customer via email, text, or social media, and they can pay you instantly.
Prerequisites
Before creating a payment link, you will need at least one product set up in your Frame dashboard. Products can be either one-time or recurring (subscription). You can manage your products from the Products page in the left sidebar.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Navigate to Payment Links
From your Frame dashboard, expand the Transactions section in the left sidebar and click Payment Links. This will take you to app.framepayments.com/payment_links.
If you have not created any payment links yet, you will see an empty state with the message "Create a payment link to accept payments from anywhere."
2. Click "+ New link"
You can start creating a new payment link by clicking the + New link button.
A slide-out panel titled "Create a payment link" will appear on the right side of the screen.
3. Enter a Name
In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for your payment link. This is for your own reference and helps you identify the link in your dashboard. For example, you might name it after the customer, the product, or the purpose of the payment (e.g., "Ralph's Hats").
4. Select a Product
Click the Select a product dropdown to choose from your existing products. The dropdown will display each product's name, price, and billing type (one-time or recurring).
For example, selecting a product might show: "Blue Hat ($1.00) - One time"
Once selected, you will see additional fields for Minimum quantity and Maximum quantity, both of which default to 1. Adjust these if your customer should be able to purchase multiple units.
If you need to attach more than one product to the same link, click the Add another product button. You can also remove a product by clicking Remove product.
Important: A single payment link can include either one-time products or recurring products, but not a mix of both.
5. Configure Optional Settings
Below the product selection, you have two optional checkboxes:
Require customers to provide a phone number - Check this if you need the customer's phone number as part of the checkout process.
Collect customers' shipping address - Check this if you need to ship a physical product and require the customer's delivery address.
Only enable these options if they are necessary for the transaction. Fewer fields generally leads to higher conversion rates.
6. Click "Create link"
Once you have configured everything, click the Create link button in the bottom-right corner of the panel. You will see a green confirmation banner at the bottom of the screen: "Payment Link was created successfully."
7. Copy and Share Your Link
Your new payment link will now appear in the Payment Links table with its name, creation date, and the full link URL. Click the Copy button next to the link URL to copy it to your clipboard.
The link will follow this format: https://checkout.framepayments.com:443/[link_id]
You can share this link with your customers via email, text message, social media, or embed it on your website.
Managing Your Payment Links
Once created, your payment links are listed in a table with three columns: Name, Created (date and time), and Link (with a copy button).
To remove a payment link you no longer need, click the Delete button (shown in red) on the right side of the corresponding row.
To create additional links, click the + New link button in the top-right corner at any time.
