Uploading Your Government-Issued ID for Verification
Last updated: November 22, 2025
Frame Payments requires users to verify their identity by uploading a government-issued photo ID through the Frame Dashboard. This process ensures compliance with our banking partners and helps protect your account from unauthorized access.
For your privacy and security, Frame only accepts verification documents uploaded directly through the Frame Dashboard.
What You’ll Need
A valid, US government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, or passport)
The ID must not be expired, redacted, altered, or damaged
All edges must be visible
The image must be in color and saved as .jpg or .png format
Taking the Photo
For the best results:
Use your mobile phone’s camera (it typically provides higher quality than a webcam)
Capture a clear, well-lit image with no glare or shadows
Hold the camera steady and allow it to focus before capturing
Avoid blocking any part of your ID or face
Remove sunglasses, masks, or hats
Use soft, ambient lighting—avoid direct sunlight or harsh overhead lights
A high-quality photo greatly increases your chance of being successfully verified on the first attempt.
